I heard you on KFI as we were stuck in traffic on the 60 freeway on 4-24-98. I had not heard of you before but the subject was quite interesting on dating. My husband and I have been married for 22 years going on 23. We found you very interesting and I would like more info on you books. It does not sound romantic but what better way to be stuck on the freeway but with the one you love. You have uninterrupted time together. Thank you again...for being there and for sharing such nice advice!

I just heard your hour-long interview with Maria Sanchez on KFI and just happened to be online as you gave out your email address, so let me quickly tell you how much I enjoyed what you had to say on this program. I am a 37-year-old unmarried man in San Diego, and let me tell you, your comments were SO validating for someone like me, who doesn't really "date" per se, for the very reasons you gave. (Dates at my age tend too much to feel like job interviews, if you know what I mean; I'd rather just be with friends and have some laughs.) As someone who prizes sincerity and being real over the artifice of your typical Saturday night dinner date, it was so great to hear someone finally acknowledge publicly how skewed our perspective is on happiness and how so many of us try so hard to find it in others. Happiness is definitely an inside job.

So, thank you for your insight. I will have to look for your books. I got a laugh from the one caller who insisted he wasn't angry at all and then proceeded to launch into a bitter diatribe about all the women who weren't calling him back! Man, that guy was so obviously hardened that I'm sure you were holding your tongue out of compassion, a wise decision not to get didactic, and the obvious limitations of the time constraints of the program.

Needless to say, I truly enjoyed the interview. I would love to receive a chapter of your book, which is a terrific offer I would like to take you up on. Could you also please give me a listing of you books or other things you have done? I would like to check them out. You're saying things that need to be said, and gives guys like me some hope that I'm on the right track, after all, that bars and personal ads miss the point, that if you can somehow just BE that ideal mate on your own, then the right one will manifest herself somehow and be attracted to that ideal also. Heard you on KFI, Maria Sanchez show, and was amazed at how "in touch" you were with the unfolding reality. I would enjoy reading your chapter. I am married, but have a loving heart and try to keep myself open to new relationships. Guess what? I am constantly meeting new people every place I go. I find my problem is time to enjoy all the people I would like to get to know better. Some time ago I was separated while my wife and I were making a huge growth step in our relationship (still ongoing), and I had no trouble meeting other women who could have been fine friends. As you know, it is a state of mind. There are plenty of places to go where you don't have to date and can meet interesting people. Seminars, new age and otherwise, are a great place to meet other inquiring minds (although you have to watch out for the weirdos). Then again, we're all weirdos in some ways to some people. Enjoyed listening to your take on relationships on Maria Sanchez's KFI radio talk show today. It is very true that most of us get trapped into the materialist goals in life; setting aside the importance of seeking out a loving relationship that is meaningful. I've been married three times with focus on obtaining "materialist things." As you had mentioned, I too have a hardened heart in attempting to find another mate.
