What natural aphrodisiacs do you currently use to soothe your mind, body and soul?  I love chocolate, and find it very self-satisfying.  Oysters, a more common aphrodisiac, just don't taste good to me because I can't get over the texture.  What works for you?

I think you have suggested a great topic, the foods of love, and as we move forward we hope / will dedicate a section to cooking / aphrodisiac foods. Chocolate has to be an all time favorite as you say, and funnily enough many people cant stand the oysters for the reasons you explain.

I can't stand the thought of oysters, but then I don't like any seafood at all.

Chocolate is a plus one for me, and red wine.

Chocolate is always awesome. However, I never quite understood the whole aphrodisiac concept. I have found that, no matter what the food is, spending time preparing it together is a great way to set the mood. We have a small kitchen, so when there are two people cooking there is always touching and communicating involved. The connection forged cooking and then eating and cleaning together always seems to follow us to bed.

It has been suggested to me, on more than one occasion, that I would prefer a fine piece of chocolate over sex any day!  I love it so much I've even incorporated it into sex.  It might be too kinky for some, but it works for me and my man.

So true!

I can't think of a single thing wrong with combining sex and chocolate.

There's lots of foods, but I'm not sure if most of them actually has any effect or if they're just placebos. Tomatoes, chocolate and oysters are probably the two most common mentioned ones, and also buttermilk.. Personally I just don't see much effect.
