How do you gain confidence? My confidence in my job has receiveda large blow, by my normal shift being covered by someone else. I work in a restaurant, so the best employees are put on the busy shifts.

I need to regain my confidence so I do well in my promotion. Any advice?

You should not feel bad. Management is the one that judges who is the best employee in any business. We cannot glow in the eyes of every manager or supervisor. Do not look at others for self-confidence, it should come from you.

I suggest you talk to your shift supervisor about your concern. Ask them why the shift schedule was changed, the individual that took your shift could have requested it. Ask about your performance, they might have moved around others to improve the restaurant's service production.

From the nature of your post, the shift change is not the dilemma. You must have lost confidence in yourself before then. We all face challenges these days do not give up.
