My college roommate had the funniest way of ditching a bad date. She took them to her cousin’s Italian restaurant for after dinner drinks. In the middle of service, a waiter would pretend to be her fanatical ex-boyfriend to scare them away. They never contacted her after that.

We were stuck in traffic for two hours on our way to the beach. As the sunset started, he pulled the car over onto the shoulder of the road, then grabbed some blankets so we could watch from the car’s hood. The best third date on record.
